Locked Tags: Will I ever win

The following is only an example. I see this frequently with different items in my library.

I have a movie item for which the scanners fail to find a match. (That is not the problem discussed here.) The scanners create the following

Next, I go and change the title, followed by clicking "Save."

Thereafter I am happy, as the title now is right

Well, over night the scanners runs as I have added a new item to my movies library. Now I see again

As you can see, the title has been reverted back to what the scanner defaults to.

I can repeat this game over and over again.

Question: Why is the title changed despite the fact that I modified it and the lock is set? I suspect that as a bug.

I scrutinised the log files, and attach what I found in com.plexapp.agents.imdb.log. As this behaviour is reproducible I am willing to provide more information when asked for.

  1. What Plex Media Server version and OS are you running?
  2. What is the full, exact filename and filepath for the library item above?
  3. What scanner and metadata agent are you using for that movie library?
  4. Please share a screenshot of the [Agents page](https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/200241558-Agents) for the agent you're using (so we can see the order and what's enabled)

With that info, we can try to reproduce the issue so it can be investigated.

Shouldn't matter once change is locked, but check file for imbedded title tag and clear/delete if necessary.  It's possible plex is picking up the tag upon rescan.

1. My example has been prepared using PMS 0.9.11.1 running on a Debian wheezy set-up. But I also have a 2nd PMS running on MaOS 10.8.  I encounter once in a while the same problem there. I feel that the bug (?) is around as long as I have been running PMS, i.e. at least a year. But these quiet days seemed a good opportunity to document the problem.

You may also want to take note of the following thread: https://forums.plex.tv/topic/135266-pms-not-keeping-changed-metadata/. I suspect it is about the same problem.

2. It is: "/media/movies/Swimming Pool - F, GB 2003.mp4." /media/movies ist the entry point to the library.

3. That is a weak point, as I never fully grasped what these setting mean and which consequences they have. But, may be this screen shot helps.

4. I hope this is the significant one

In principle, I prefer the scanner to leave my metadata alone, as it too often destroys well curated entires. If I want a item to be matched, I use the "fix incorrect match" mechanism.
