I am running Windows 10 1809. I run Plex on my local Windows user, and have my library on a local disk. Normally this is fine. Recently I updated a folder with my own music on, but Plex ignores the changes. It recognises that I have deleted some tracks, but will not update with new ones. I have update automatically, when changed, every 15 minutes all checked. I have used Tag & Rename to ensure all the files have the same tags.
I have tried scan library, refresh metadata and everything else I can think of, and it just sits there. Does anyone have a bright idea? Don’t worry if it makes me look stupid, I already feel stupid!
This is probably what you’re running into:
im having the same issu would like to have a ETA on this
Per the article linked to above your post, there is no ETA.
@MarkTotton There were some changes to the Premium music libraries however it shouldn’t prevent you from scanning in any new items.
Could you just post your log files so I can take a look (Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Download logs).
I’m pretty sure with music files you have to “Plex Dance” them. Changing the metadata after the initial scan that Plex does has no affect. (or none that I’ve seen) Plex stubbornly holds onto the (possibly wrong) info from the first pass. Perhaps this is the problem?
plex dance info here:
I am utterly amazed. Yes, the Plex dance fixed it (thanks for the tips people), but this was the solution over a year ago, so long ago that I had forgotten about it! I can’t believe it is still unfixed. Even iTunes managed better than this!
