I am an iTunes user since Day #1, back when we were really dependent on Playlists to organize our music, and those Playlists were organized into folders. With over 5,000 playlists and 100,000 songs, things worked great in Plex with the iTunes channel. When that went away I upgraded to Plex Pass to be able to import all my Playlists. But rather than getting the neatly organized folders containing Playlists, I just get a screen of disorganized playlists which is useless to me. Can you add folder support for Playlists and have it recognize the ones from iTunes when using Plex Pass. Thank you.
There is a folder view for music.
I also use folders for Playlists because it has been the only consistent way to transfer Playlist across devices and ensure that I don’t lose the music groupings if I change OS or applications for playback.
The problem that I am with the folder view is that in Plex it doesn’t play the folder as expected, ie first file to last file in some method of sorting.
Not sure the folder view will help with how it is currently implemented, as it is not very helpful for me. If there was a select all (maybe I am missing it?) from the folder view to make a Playlist that would at least be a work around.
The play all from a folder view would go a long way to getting close to Audiobook support too (other than a playback speed control for that mode)

How do you activate the folder view over playlists? I’m seeing my Tidal playlists all flat on one screen, no folders there.

I wish this would get implemented ASAP. It’s one of those features that would make my Plex usage SO MUCH BETTER.
This should NOT be confused with viewing the folders within your Plex library. This should be organizing your playlists within a folder view, like Spotify has. For us that have A LOT of playlists, it should make everything that much better to use.

Take my vote! We desperately need to be able to do smart collections and smart playlist by folder. As I’ve stated elsewhere, I don’t need X-Mas in July. Or it’d be really nice to know that my soundtracks, which all live in their own folder, are automatically added to a smart collection of soundtracks, especially when their meta data isn’t tagged correctly. (And no, I don’t have time to edit tags on thousands of soundtracks. Also no, I don’t want them in their own library.)
A simple folder filter would solve pretty much every smart collection/playlist issue I’ve ever had.

With the addition of Sonic Sage, I feel like this feature would be a perfect addition. I like to save some of the generated lists, but in order to keep it slightly organized, I have to add “GPT - Prompt” so it’s harder to mix up this with my personally created list. I’d love to just through all of the generated playlists into a “GPT” folder and have my list not be so cluttered.

I also ended up here looking for the same solution. Playlists folders OR the ability to add playlists to Collections (so we could use collections as folders) would be much appreciated!

This suggestion is about grouping playlists into folders, not how Plex reflects the file organization of your media.

Please consider this one! Seems like relatively simple feature to implement and is crucial especially for Plexamp users who have a large amount of playlists. Something similar to how iTunes or many other music streaming apps allow you to organize music this way.
