Cannot access server remotely... due to verizon fios DNS?

We believe McAfee has removed plex.direct from their blacklist. Please let us know if you still see the issue.

For what it’s worth, I was still having this issue two weeks after my install on 2/19/2020 and finally dumped the G3100. That hasn’t been painless. The connection to the G3100 was without issue for all but Plex. Since moving away from the G3100 (first to an Asus RT-AX88U and then my older Netgear R7000P) my Plex connection shows up without issue, but my network overall has been spotty, especially WIFI, which seems to come and go. FiOS used to be (the last time I had it) a rock-solid experience and now it feels unreliable.

I have a Verizon g3100, and the plex media server does not have stable remote access… I got the My Fios app, and turned on the HNP, and then turned it off, so I am sure that that is not the issue for me… I made a post here: Remote access not stable... Verizon Fios g3100 router problems?

I tried everything everywhere. I finally fixed t problem and it was simpler than ever. The problem is with Verizion and their firewall.

  1. download the Verizon My Fios app
    2)log in > my fios> Internet
3)scroll down to Device and parental controls > notifications
  2. find the Plex Notification that Verizon is blocking. It’s going to have an option that says > allow At the bottom.
  3. enjoy
