for the last couple of weeks i have been unable to change the user on all formats (iOS, Windows etc). It just asks me to enter my code for my user but for example on my apple TV mutiple people use it but they are unable to select their user only mine. I have not changed any settings backend only installed updates to plex server and apps? Any ideas?
Make sure PlexHome is still active.

Indeed. You don’t have anyone in your Plex Home. All your users are regular ‘shared’ /‘friend’ users.
Go to https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/users-sharing
then scroll and click on one user name
then click on the ‘House’ icon top, right to invite him into your Plex Home.
Every user you invite that way will be available in the Switch User screen.
Make sure to not invite people who have their own Plex server.

Thanks, this seems to have fixed the issue. This was already set up so didn’t think to check it. Must of been reset with an update!
