I will test all of your requests at my soonest ability.
The firewall on the server is disabled and should have no impact.
The firewall on the router is just the standard of the router, I have made no tweaks of any kind.
The router is the ubiquiti edge router, updated to latest firmware. That’s just how they name the ports: the AP, LAN, and Local ports are all internal. The Internet Port on eth4 is the external-to-the-internet port. Switch0 is the name and the way Ubquiti notates that the router is also a 4 port switch, which is named Switch0.
Again, all of this hasnt changed from prior to the rebuild, but I will do my diligence and test your theories.
I am not a linux / NAS expert - but may be there is some routing in linux that needs to be in place
But as suggested - if feasible - should try and see if the requests are reaching the server machine - that would eliminate the router from the investigation
Well, unfortunately you seem to be correct. All the ports were open just a week or two ago (see above according to canyouseeme.org) and going today to check ports, I can’t even remote ssh into my server anymore. Long story short, I think my router is on the fritz. I have a spare that I’ll swap in and test and get back with you. Thanks!
Well sir, you were correct. My router was working great before the rebuild of the server. Even during this troubleshooting, I had no issues other than remote access. I decided to factory reset my router (last update was beginning of November), and for some reason I can’t get to the management IP after doing so. I swapped the router for an old linksys I had in the closet, it came right up, and I forwarded the ports, waited a few minutes, and everything works. Remote Access in Plex is sticking. Now I cant test it from remote, but from what I can tell internally, everything will be fine.
This totally sucks because my other router was only two years old and it gave me NO issues other than the port forwards not going through.
(Tell you a story about my router - my ISP is resetting my router every few days and i find all my port forwards gone - I think there are going through some extensive problem investigation in our area - this actually one scenario when uPnP auto port mapping gives a more reliable outcome !!!)
