Cannot get analog audio working

Hello,
I’m running rasplex 0.7.1 on a rpi2, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get analog audio to work. I attempted changing config.txt, but had no luck, and no matter how I search, and how much searching I do, I cannot find information on how to get audio to output to the analog port. Currently I have HDMI going to a monitor that does not have built in speakers, and I need the analog port so that I can plug my headphones into the RPI.

Any help is appreciated.

Have you seen this topic http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/174494/rasplex-dual-audio-version-0-7-and-above

I have looked at your topic, however, I cannot follow the instructions, as I do not know where I make the changes like “set ‘audio output’ to ‘HDMI’” and things of the sort. And all I wish is for the audio’s output to be through the 3.5 mm port, not the HDMI.

Go to Preferences->System->Audio output and then follow the instructions.

Wow, I do not know how I didn’t find that before. Thank you.
However, a new problem arises, the audio quality coming from the analogue output is absolutely horrible, it is quiet, and not to mention crackly.

Yeah, known issue with Raspberry Pi Model B, better with B+ and B2, it’s a hardware issue not a Rasplex issue, if you can stretch to it get a HiFiBerry DAC.

Can you please make this topic as answered, thanks.
