Cannot play videos with subtitles and when subtitle burn set to auto

Hello,

since only recently (2, 3 days max), I am unable to play videos with subtitles when I set the subtitle burn to auto. It doesn’t matter if they are from opensubtitles.org, txt-files in the movie folder, or embedded into the video file. Playback will always crash with “An error occurred while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app.” If subtitle burn is set to “always”, playback will work and subtitle will be displayed, however, now the video file obviously will need to be transcoded.

Hello, I am having the same issue since a week on half of my movie/TV show.
If anyone got an idea…

Same issue. This just started. Runs fine on PC but nvidia shield gives a cannot play error all of a sudden.

Also the same issue. I have the problem only with the newest version of the android smartphone app (7.13.0.9583). Streaming from my Samsung TV or from my laptop is no problem.

Don’t think it has much to do with the version, as the same problem persists on a FireTV stick. These have a considerably older version (7.10.0.8875).

Huh… Well… Seems that all it takes to solve this is to run analyze over the file in question (or the whole library; only took a few seconds for 700 or 800 files).
