Cannot sort shows by 'Last Episode Date Added'

Using latest available PMS and Plex Client on Latest build Nvidia Shield 2017. I reset the shield back to factory defaults over the weekend as I was suffering a lot of buffering and slowdowns waiting for streams to start. I used to have Plex store it’s data on an external USB 3 1TB drive. All films and shows come from a NAS on the LAN,

PMS has been rebuild, there’s no external USB drive so everything is stored on the 16GB internal flash drive. (video thumbnails are disabled), new libraries were setup and scanning has been completed. Everything is working well and is much quicker.

I have one issue though, I always have the TV library set to unwatched only, sort by Last Episode Date added. Whenever I set this on either the Plex client on the Shield, the web client or on a Fire TV the client either displays nothing or says there is an error displaying this library,

Switch back to order by title and everything is fine.

Any ideas what’s causing this?

actually the problem only exists if I select ‘unplayed’ and ‘last episode date added’

Clear the ‘unplayed only’ setting and it displays fine.

Select unplayed only on it’s own and it displays fine.

Cannot select both.

I have the same problem, tried from the web client and roku with same results…

Do you mean sorted like this? Have you optimized DB lately?

yes

Going to guess database corruption. do you have a server log after trying filtering. The server log will usually say it it has detected corruption but somtimes this method works as well to check

Do you have server DB backups set to be made? if so you can restore one of those.

FYI…

All other sorts work correctly just this one combination…

yeah i saw. definitely check for corruption before bothering with trying to restore. also try to optimize DB if you have not lately.

This has been going on like this for a long time… At least a year…
Just saw the other post and figured i’d confirm this problem.
Not a combination I use regularly.

When I get some time I’ll check out the database and report…

My issue is from a brand new DB. Shield was reset to factory defaults, then plex setup with new libraries (folders haven’t changed) and this issue is there on the TV library straight away.

Can I run a DB check on a shield PMS?

You can download a copy of the DB from the web app and check.

To get direct access you need to move the PMS data folder
