Server Version#: 1.29.2.6364-6d72b0cf6
Player Version#:
My server is not able to connect my Plex account and says it needs a update, but its the latest version. While surfing on the local web front end (Windows 10, Google Chrome) the server tries to call “https://plex.tv” and also the “download update” link redirects to “Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More”, but calling this URL gives me a “Certificate Common Name invalid” error message. “https://www.plex.tv” works fine, but “https://plex.tv” is broken!
On my home PC (Windows 11, Google Chrome) i am able to connect to “https://plex.tv” without any problem, anybody got some idea what could be the problem with the certificate?
Update: looks like there where some wrong DNS records with pretty long TTL routing to the wrong servers:
plex.tv. 40213796 IN A 54.75.123.118
plex.tv. 40213796 IN A 54.170.225.127
plex.tv. 40213796 IN A 54.228.172.122
plex.tv. 40213796 IN A 63.35.173.94
Changing the DNS to google to get the lastest IPs worked to solve the SSL problem, but no i cant connect the server to my plex account again. The log says:
Nov 20, 2022 16:01:57.318 [0x7fafb32e5b38] ERROR - Couldn't find the file to stream: /usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Resources/Plug-ins-6d72b0cf6/WebClient.bundle/Contents/Resources/undefined/api/v2/pins
Update: Windows cached the old DNS records… clearing all caches resolved the problem.
