Hi,
I’m interested in using the new Sonic features, but sadly I can’t seem to find the tickbox to activate the feature. I’m on Plex Beta Channel with a Plexpass.
Why it’s not available?
If I remember correctly, TrueNAS doesn’t run one of the supported OS (Win, Linux, macOS).
There’s been discussions where users succeeded to spin up their Plex in a docker/container and got it to work.

It’s not available natively on FreeBSD (which TrueNAS CORE is built on). So it won’t work in a jail or plugin either. No docker in TrueNAS CORE.

Requires the latest Plex Media Server v1.24.0
Server OS: macOS, Windows, and Linux only
If your server has the capacity for it you could move Plex to a Virtual Machine. That makes hardware transcoding more complicated though.
Some folks are migrating to TrueNAS SCALE (Linux-based), where it works in a docker.
Oh my bad, I just missed that very important detail.
I just hope they will offer that feature to other OS as well.
