Can't go back?

Hello,

Since the rollout of the, what appears to be universally disliked, update on firestick I can’t go back. The button just doesn’t go back on almost every screen. If I’m in a TV show’s listing where it shows seasons etc, I can’t get out of it. There is no way. There’s no menu across the top (just show and its seasons), there’s no sidebar anymore.

Then I tried clicking on other submenus in the episode, just to try and find a workaround. I got stuck on a submenu and back wouldn’t work anymore.

I’ve had to force close Plex a dozen times now and the restart doesn’t fix this so it appears to be a real issue, not a restart and everything’s good.

Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone have a workaround?

The best workaround right now is to side load the old app. There’s a few easy to find threads here on the forums but you can also just google it.

We are aware of this issue. It should be fixed in the upcoming release on 2026.13.0.

It’s a version number. 2026.13.0 rolled out last Monday, July 6. My Firestick updated to it Friday.

Ok, that’s what I thought. My plex app on my firestick also updated a few days ago and now the menu is on top (instead of the sides), right?

Yes, that’s the new experience version. You can check the actual version number you have by clicking your Profile Icon > Settings > About .
