Can't install PMS on Synology (32400 occupied, but it's not)

Hi everybody,
I’m struggling to install PMS on my Synology.
I had Plex inside Docker, I want to move it on native.

What I did:

  • disconnect PMS and user
  • cancel (not remove) the PMS in docker
  • turn off docker
  • reboot
  • download plex from packet centre

What I get: The port 32400 is already configured or used and it’s in conflict.

Netstats show that there is no port 32400 in use.
Reboot, wait, try again. Nothing.
Restarted Docker, restarted PMS on docker, stopped again, cancelled again, stopped Docker, Rebooted. Same problem.
Restarted Docker, renamed Preferences.xml.old, restarted PMS, reclaimed the server, disconnected, stopped, cancelled, stopped docker, rebooted. Same problem.

At this point, I’m missing something. Synology does not let go of port 32400 for some reasons. I really don’t know what to try next.

If anybody has any suggestion it will be appreciated.
Thank you very much, tAlpA

Does the docker container still exist?

I believe Synology will keep the port mapping for as long as the container exists.
That being said, you will need to commit yourself by pulling the Plex data out first then removing the container definition and restarting DSM.

Thank you ChuckPa for the advice.
I changed the PMS’s Docker Dir so that I do not lose my server (that I want to move after I can install PMS native). Manually changed the port on the stopped container (just in case…). Deleted the container.
Rebooted.
The problem is resolved. PMS is installed.
Thank you very much. Sometimes we need a pair of fresh eyes from outside  it was so simple…
