Player Version#: Version 3.104.2 on macOS 10.14.6 and at least 6 previous versions and also any version on iPhone in the same time frame.
When I am playing a live TV show starting from the beginning (some time previous) and try to jump forward or backward the playback jumps to somewhere near the beginning and nowhere else.
This means I have to wait for an entire recording session to end before being able to position the playback. Is there any intention to fix this?
This is a known issue. There is another thread on the forum about it and yes the Plex developers are aware and are working on a perm fix. Apparently it is a difficult problem to solve with all the varying clients they support. A workaround that has worked for me is to create a new video library (use generic videos type) and point it to the .grab folder inside the same folder where you place recorded TV. Since the folder starts with a period it is considered hidden, but if your force a library there you can see video files pop up a few minutes after they start and can start watching there and it works pretty good. Not perfect, but does work.
