Have tried twice now and can’t get this to work.
QNAP Server Version#: 1.19.1.2645
QNAP web version: 4.22.3
unRAID Server Version#: official plexinc/pms-docker (current latest)
I’m following step-by-step the official support article Move an Install to Another System https://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/
Disable Emptying of Trash
Install Plex Media Server on the Destination System
Sign Out and Stop the Plex Media Server on the Destination System
opy Server Data From the Source System
lace on the Destination System
Reboot the Destination System
Start the Plex Media Server
Launch Plex Web App
Sign Out and Back in to the Server
Edit Your Libraries
This is where I get stuck. I can see all the libraries but if you click the three dots none of the options described in https://support.plex.tv/articles/200289266-editing-libraries/ are available.
Help!

Did you sign-out the Source PMS (QNAP) and power it down ?
Step 3 is sign out. I stopped the Plex app instance but didn’t shut down the whole machine as this was not mentioned.
What does that do?

That’s what I meant
It’s now time for logs from the PMS
I did this again from scratch and used identical paths in docker so no need to edit those and it seems to have found the content and kept watched metadata but it’s incredibly sluggish and there don’t seem to be any covers loaded.
Is there a way to fix this or work out why it’s so slow?
Not without logs, since we sadly can’t use a Crystal ball
Sorry, but you only uploaded the latest PMS log, and they roll over!
I did however notice that when it called itself, it was not using loopback address ? (127.0.0.1)
Is that defined on your box?

Sorry where should this be defined and why?
I’ve just kept what the settings were from the old install after importing.

Sadly not an Unraid dude, so no idea where to define it, but PMS depends on it for internal communication, so please verify, that you have an interface with the address 127.0.0.1
What does this cause to go wrong? I mean it all works fine apart from the thumbnails and worked fine with exactly the same config on the old machine for years.
I’m running the docker so docker instructions are fine
When PMS tries to get posters etc, it calls itself on http://127.0.0.1:32400
Well, something did change
Ohhh…so now it’s docker, and not Unraid?
And nope, either they can’t be fine, or you didn’t read them correctly
And when said, PMS dockers are multiple, so which one are you running?
Unraid does not run apps natively. You either use docker or VMs.
First post. What type of network do you use? Host? Bridge?

Thanks 4 stepping in here, since as you noticed, I’m neither Unraid nor a Docker dude
Sure thing. But my knowledge is merely mediocre at both
Bridge. I think all my dockers run like that.
And I meant you giving me instruction.
I don’t know why, but my unraid pms runs in host mode. I created it from the apps tab and therefore used the standard settings supplied there.
Still, to my understanding also bridge should work…
Having changed nothing it’s now showing about 30% of my films thumbnails but still zero tv.
Afraid I still have this issue? And apologies I was incorrect earlier. It’s a host not a bridge as bridge doesn’t work at all for Plex.
