Using Plex 1.10.1.4602 on my new Synology NAS ds418play, I am unable to play home 1080p videos. When I try I get a message “Not enough bandwidth for any playback of this item. Cannot convert to below minimum bandwidth of 103kbps.” I also have a new Roku stick+ which is 802.11ac capable. Using Synology’s DS Video, the home videos play fine. Does Plex Pass buy you any more speed or capabilities, i.e., could I play my home videos using Plex Pass?
Plex pass does not provide any additional bandwidth. If you can’t play on the free version you will get the same experience in the paid version.
I would suggest you try a different client that can direct play the files.
