no matter what computer I’m using on my network, I can sort my music by genre but from there if I hit play or try to shuffle I just get the spinning circle forever. it will never shuffle or start playing. if I take the sort off genre and switch it to all then everything works fine.
Me too, and it’s only on my web service. I can do it on my phone no problem but not the web player.
Thats for the report. I have verified the issue and we are investigating it.
Any news on this issue? I run several AppleTVs and have 75,000 songs. The apple TVs are connected to Crestron and play through the house. With a collection that large and distributed audio, shuffling by Genre is really the only way I can listen to it.
I do notice that shuffle does work from other screens. I am trying shuffling recently added right now.
Is there a work around? If not, can we please get this issue fixed?
Any news on this? Many people have documented that shuffle does not work on apple TV. It is unusual and maybe even unreasonable that this bug has persisted for two years.
Music with a large library is all but useless without shuffle. Its December and my kids want to hear holiday music. It is natural and reasonable that I open my library, choose genre=Christmas and select shuffle.
Tuesday taco night = latin music on shuffle
Sexy dinner party = brazilian music and shuffle
You get the idea…
