It would be nice to get the possibility to shuffle the hole library in the music section ?
Shuffling the whole library seems less useful than shuffling a section like genre or artist.
I would very much like to see this. My plan is to eventually use Plex instead as my music player on all my devices instead of having music on each device. A more robust music player with options like shuffle all songs would make music navigation and listening much more easier to do while say, driving, running, and so forth.
shuffle all is necessary for me. i would love to use plex exclusively for music as well as my movies and tv shows but playlist/shuffle support is non existent.
Big +1 from me!! I would like to be able to shuffle songs across different albums, artists and genres in Plex Web and for iOS.

I would like to be able to shuffle all or just a section. What would be REALLY great is to be able to shuffle iTunes playlist.
I actually think its kind of crazy this hasn’t been implemented, it’s a basic core feature in any audio player. It’s kind of like buying a new car and it coming with a cassette player. Old audio tech packaged in a shiny box. I wish I had the chance to read these plex pass forums before I paid for it. Between this and the plex sync issues I feel a bit ripped off. No playlists? No shuffle of playlists? Heck, you could do those things with the 1st gen iPod…you could even do it with a CD.
This would make a world of difference when using Plex for music.
Yes please - shuffle a section option. This is one of several features I would really want. Will post a list of them in separate thread.
The ability to shuffle needs to be at each of the selected levels. Should also introduce 'All' music tracks in a section for selection and then the shuffle option can be applied to that.
So shuffle option would be available if selecting an artist or an album or a decade or a year or a folder etc..
and additional introduce selection of 'All' and that too can have either sequential or shuffle
When selecting by folder - should be able to act at any folder and not just lowest nested level drilling down automatically on playback
I use Plex for Samsung App so my references above are to what I see on the screen in the Plex app.

I have built a Music Singles Video section, I would also like to shuffle this.
Please! This is the one feature that I was supprised that Plex was missing. I was showing off Plex to a audio geek friend of mine thinking he would love it and the first question he asked is, "Ok.. so what if I want to listen to multiple artists. How do I shuffle all?". I was shocked that this wasn't a feature!
It is possible to shuffel a complete section it is just a hidden option in PMC, dont know if it works in PHT
First go to your music section than select artist now press ‘c’ on the keyboard
A popup will show and you can select shuffel
Ps i am not compleetly shure about going to artist was nessasercly but i am sure about the ‘C’

The only thing stopping me from using Plex as my main music app on iOS and android is not being able to shuffle all my music like I normally do. So +1 for this
YES!!! Please do add the ability to shuffle all songs. Actually it would be AWESOME to be able to list all songs (for all Artists / Albums) in a single list, be able to sort by column (Sing Title, Artist, Album, Year, etc) or "Random" / Shuffle.
Shuffle everything, not just music.
Smart Playlists from XBMC would be ideal.
I agree, shuffle and some other very common/basic music playback functions are greatly needed to make Plex a true MEDIA center, not just video center.
