Cast Credits across different Library types

Having the option to click a cast member to see other movies the actor has been in is a great feature.
What is missing is applying the search across all libraries. From a movie listing, it only shows other movies in that library. I personally have movie libraries for 4K separated from All Movies. As well, TV shows are in a library by itself.
If I clicked an actor it would be nice to see what Movies AND TV Shows are currently in the library for this actor. Or one step deeper, if the actor also has an album, having the search result to include Music libraries would be nice

Then you’re not yet using the new feature.
Make sure your libraries are configured to use the Plex Movie and Plex TV Series agents and have their metadata refreshed. What you’re asking for is exactly how the Discover Credits works.

There’s already an existing feature suggestion discussing an option to also reflect a person’s involvement in music projects (e.g. artists showing up in movies etc.).

Did you get this sorted as I am having the same problem with just my films?

I have updated my Agent to ‘Plex Movie’, I have even created a new folder from scratch and popped a couple of movies in it just to see.

My TV, works like a charm. For instance, Michael Palin (80 Days around the world - TV) shows info about him when I click on his face, but Michael Palin (Monty Python Holy Grail) shows films he is in and that is all.

Any ideas as to why this is just doing it on films and not TV?

Thanks,

can you get the plex media info xml for your Holy Grail. copy it to a text file and attach that

Monty Python.txt (28.2 KB)

Here you go

Go into the properties of your movie library.
Go to the “Advanced” tab
Make sure that “Include adult content” is NOT active

I have just done that and refreshed the metadata and still no joy.

I have removed the Films directory and have rebuilt it from scratch again.

It now works correctly. Not sure why but it seems like this is the only way to fix it.

Thanks.
