As the title states, the Categories (Pivot) tab is blank, on personal media TV libraries.
Checking the release notes, the feature was added under:
(Pivots) Add genre categories to Movies and TV Shows libraries (#12309 )
A screenshot of what I see, when clicking the Categories tab, on a TV library:
The screenshot is from Plex Web but I have verified that no categories are displayed on iOS, Samsung (Tizen) and Android TV too.
There is no issue with my Movies / Films library - Categories are correctly displayed on all the same clients. The issues is isolated to TV libraries.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist.
Thanks.

I assume your tv shows have genres assigned to them? Just double checking because you specifically mentioned „personal media“.
Poor wording on my part… This is a TV library and uses Plex TV Series agent & scanner, which has auto-populated the Genre fields:
For completeness, I had Movies & TV option under Online Media Sources disabled but quickly enabled and verified that the Categories show up fine there too.

Ok… I can confirm this on my own setup – that’s a weird one. Let me see if I can forward this…

Updated to v1.28.1.6092 and that’s sorted it!
I really wish users had an option to disable this “feature”.
Can’t you just not use it?

I would prefer it not be shown with my movies or shows

The error still appears with me! I have the latest version
With series it works, but very slowly
with movies it does not load at all and an error message appears
When searching the forums when I had this initial issue, I came around various posts from users with large libraries, where the Categories view takes a while to load or just times out.
I believe the PMS logs highlighted a slow running query, so doesn’t look like the Categories are cached.
