My TV shows won’t play. They show up on the web server page and can even be played when selected from on deck or recently added. However when I go to tv shows it says server unavailable. This happens locally and remote. It happened a Couple days ago and I deleted it and re-added it however I lost all my play counts so I’d like to avoid that again. any ideas why I can no longer see this? Every other categories works fine, kids tv shows, movies, kids movies, just this category of tv shows is effected. I’ve had it running smoothly for over a year and just now experienced this problem. I have the latest version of plex. Thoughts?
That’s not right. PMS never forgets play counts. Did you possibly use a different agent than you had before? Play counts are tracked by the agent used. Try rematching 1 show you’ve seen with a different agent and see if the count comes back.
If Web shows the library as unavailable, it could be you have a corrupted database preventing that page from rendering.
Well it happened again, and yes, I lost my play counts. The TV shows section says server unavailable when trying to access so i deleted it and readded it and then every single show says it’s unwatched. Only tv shows is effected. Its the weirdest thing. Everything else works fine
Is there a Plex DVR recording things into this library?
If so, it could be in connection with this issue:
Second thought:
Check for database corruption.
- activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
- quit Plex Server
- wait 1 minute
- start Plex Server
- wait 5 minutes
- fetch log files and attach them here
Or inspect them yourself. Take a look at the Plex Media Server.log file and seek for messages about database corrupt or malformed.
If you find these, you may have to repair your database.

Info: The issue is in PMS 1.13.9 affecting the loading of TV Shows libraries that have recordings added, has been seen to only affect Plex for iOS, Plex for Apple TV and Plex for Roku plex client apps.
Then there must be something else going on with this version, because there were several reports about incorrect ‘unwatched’ episode counters with PMS 1.13.9, e.g.
Oh sorry - I will clarify - There is an error in the xml returned by the server
Plex for iOS and Plex for Apple TV and Plex for Roku may fail to load the libraries.
The XML error does relate to watched status counts and episode count - so clients that may not fail loading the libraries could present the invalid counts
So it actually may be the same issue?

attached logs.
Is there another version of plex i can download? I tried deleting my dvr and still nothing.
You can back down to PMS 1.13.8, which is available if you switch off the Plex Pass downloads on the download page.
1.13.9 beta has now been superseded by 1.13.9.5456 which should fix the issue of failure to load TV Shows libraries with recorded media and also episode and watched counts
- Fix for recorded TV libraries failing to load on iOS. (#9227)
(and tvOS and Roku)
