20Mbps is going to take a fair amount of time to transfer 24TB. Several days at least, I would suspect. And possibly much longer if there are any problems.
I donāt really know anyone who likes hard subs. The only reason I can possible think to do this is to avoid transcoding on platforms that would have to transcode. The problem is that if you do in fact have to transcode a show/movie that is hard coded the subs loose quality.

I like hard coded subs, but not because of transcoding, but the lack of support at the client level for pgs subs. I donāt really like srt subs because you loose the flair some subs (think avatar).
Hi @cayars does your version of the mp4_automator script solve the issue with setting the disposition of the new aac audio track to avoid the echo effect that is seen on iOS and Apple TV when converting with FFMPEG?

I donāt believe it does as Iām having my users report this issue. Doesnāt help Iāve just converted all of my media.
Cayars if you can afford the time, we would all really appreciate a fix for it. I tried to get it working with the above but no joy. Iām too dumb when it comes to these things.
Sorry guys never heard of this before. I guess none of my users have/use apple products.
I think itās kind of weird that apples would try and play back all the audio at one time. I think just about every other software and hardware on the planet will default to the first track if multiple are set as default.

But here nor there. I should be able to fix this.
A lot of my users are using iOS devices. It seems to set all the tracks as the default resulting in both being played at the same time due to the disposition according to the link. Most unusual! If you could fix that would be awesome. Love the script otherwise, made my life a lot easier.

I have converted all my files using your script, if your able to fix this, would we be able to put already converted files through a conversion again?

I guess that depends on Cayars generosity when it comes to scripting!
Hi guys,
Iām new to all this bitrate and Mbps talk. Is there a thread or article that explains how all this stuff works. I understand that the software like poison and ayars will help with the conversions but I want to know what is happening underneath the hood. Any direction is much appreciated. Many thanks!
I followed all the directions on how to organize and set up a personal media library for Sports. Everything works great except for one thing.
I cannot get custom theme music, i.e., theme.mp3 to play. My folder/file structure is similar to how the example on page 1 is for the NFL and Superbowl. In my case itās NBA season and NBA Finals. Same scenario. Iām trying to use the NBA on NBC theme song because itās a thousand times better and memorable than ABC/ESPNās.
Iām following every single rule for adding a custom theme.mp3 file that Plexās says to do - make sure Local Media Assets is checked and at the top, refreshed/rescanned Library, quit/restarted Plex, looked out for special characters, sample rate 44.1k, file is only 426k, song is only 25sec. Everything.
Iām wondering if the problem may lie in the Extended Personal Media Shows Scanner or Agent now.

Man, Iām glad I reviewed this thread, I was just getting ready to start tearing through my library and converting. Iāve got quite a few on iOS

Whilst Cayars works on a fix for this issue, have a look at this thread, i have fixed most of my existing media using this method.

Hey guys, sorry but I havenāt been around much lately.
Give me a couple of days to get into the flow of things and Iāll take a look at the scripts. Canāt imagine it will be hard to fix.

Thatās ok! Thanks for doing all that you do! Iām sure looking forward to the resolution. Will you include a script that will reselect track 1 as the default and leave the secondary as track 2 for the files we have already converted?
Most likely Iāll fix it so that moving forward ios wonāt have the problem. Then Iāll create a script to identify all items in your present database in MP4 that have more than one audio track. This would then allow those items to be remuxed (no loss in quality).
I donāt have any ios devices so itās going to be hard to test.

Amazeballs. It is seemingly not a problem in iOS in the sense that itās a FFMPEG problem as it shouldnāt allow you to set 2 tracks as both the defaults AFAIK from what Iāve read from the previous posts.
