Cayars - Setup walk through and some tips and tricks

What I do for educational & Sports videos is switch to folder view for THAT LIBRARY. Then you see everything including the folder names.

With good file names like you have above this seems to work fine for my system.

@cayars I am interested in converting to H.265. How exactly is your scripts set up to convert either one as desired?

Not sure if anyone is checking this, but I’ve been getting this error message for 2 movies. Spiderman into the spiderverse and How to train your dragon 2. Hope someone might be able to help

Just change the codec for the destination file in the ini.

Looks like the file is open in another program.

No other program is running except those involved in the script. The movie is also deleted from both the done folder and the process folder like it was never there.
And only has happened for those two movies, I have done others after running those and they have worked.

Have also tried mdhiggins script, and the same error happens. What is the .QTFS? Seems to be hanging on that.

Not sure what it could be?

Try using Process Monitor, https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon, to confirm that the file is truly not being used by something else.

Thanks @shark2k, will give that a go

Once QTFS finishes, the entire file disappears and I get ā€œwindow error 2 system cannot find file specifiedā€

File just gone. Has only happened to these 2 files. Anything I should look for in their mediainfo or metadata?

Honestly I don’t know without having a file to test.

Can you cut a 5 minute segment of one of those files and test to see if it has the same issue with the conversion OR can you upload that file to dropbox, google drive or similar and send me a link.

I’d surely take a look and try to reproduce.

I will put into google drive now. Thanks for the help Carlo

Where would you like me to send the link?

any chance the virus scanner thinks it a virus and is deleting them…

It’s only happening with 2 movies as of now, and both are animated. Not sure if that’s relevant, but other movies are going through the process fine.

I just mention that because…
A while back I was developing an application and when I would submit it to be built the aftermath was a mess… Turned out that as the build process was proceeding and the virus scanner found one file part and thought was a virus and would quarantine it, the build would continue turning it all into a mess. The log would tell me a file was missing, and it was but I knew it had been there… Turned on notifications on the virus scanner after that…

Thanks, will look at that…
Just tried to do a clip of the movie, and now getting this

file being used by another process…??

I know…can’t get a grip on any of this…

And it has only been for this movie and Spiderman into the spiderverse.

Have run 4-5 movies after this started, and they are all fine

@cayars Have the movie in my drive, where should I send the link to?

Really weird…ran a few tests of just a 4 minute clip, and twice it worked fine and twice gave me the file is open in another program.

Also looks like python had 3 .exe. open in task manager when it threw the error, but only one when it performed the whole process

PM me the link.
