Change Media Music Path after Qnap NAS crash

Server Version#:1.24.5.5173
Player Version#:

Hi,
I had a problem with the NAS Qnap TS-453Be and I would like to recover the operation of the Plex server.
After completely rebooting the system, without deleting the data, I installed Plex and it recognized the old database, but I can’t play anything because the path has changed.

Is it possible to change the path in the music library and keep all the metadata and sonic analysis I already had?

Edit:
I added the new path in the library without removing the old one to see if being the same files with the same relative paths I didn’t have to do again the sonic analysis and create all the metadata.

Perhaps it would be best to recreate the original path and restore the database backup?

-I recovered the entire PlexMediaServer folder from a snapshot of the day before the NAS problem.

-I also have exported the database before I started scanning the new folder.

What is the best way to avoid sonic analysis?

Thanks

  1. Turn off all automatic updating, empty trash, and clean bundles operations.
  2. Wait for all operations to complete.
  3. For each path, one at a time, Add the new path BUT KEEP THE OLD – for now.
  4. Allow it to detect it as a duplicate, completing each addition before adding more.
  5. After it has detected all as duplicates, then you can remove the old path.

lastly, empty trash, clean bundles, optimize database

The goal here is to keep it known to Plex under the same Media Item ID.

I’ve chatted with @Dane22.

He suggests the doing it slightly differently but achieving the same repair.

  1. Turn off Empty trash automatically after every scan in Settings/Library
  2. Edit Library, and add new path to to it. Do keep the old path!
  3. At the library, select Scan Library Files
  4. After it is finished, confirm that medias are duplicated, by looking at the info for a media
  5. After it’s done, on the library, select Manage Library/Empty Trash
  6. Confirm all is okay, and only one media is now detected, by looking at the info for a media
  7. Edit library, and remove the old path
  8. Repeat for each library section you defined.

Thanks @ChuckPa, now I’m scanning the library, when I’m done I’ll follow your steps and comment.
Is there any way to check that everything is ok with the new path?
Do I need to check individually?

If one is okay, they all should be.

When said, you could export everything into a CSV file for a more easy way of checking
