Change playback speed on photo slideshow

Anybody hear anything yet on this?

I am also interested in adjusting the slideshow speed of photos

Another vote.

Web client is stupid fast.

This is frustrating, all I want is to slow down the slideshow, have it resize small photos and maybe let you choose sone tunes. Why are all the simple tasks abandoned? I don’t care about photo recognition algorithms. I just want my crappy lil slideshow to play nice and slow, maybewith some music.

FIRST REPORTED THIS IN July 2014!
SHAME ON YOU @PLEX!

Crazy that this feature isn’t there. I’ve been searching all day to find a decent photo viewing/sharing app where the slideshow interval can be selected. Seems so basic, but no apps seem to have it.

+1 (not just for Chromecast)
Seems very basic indeed and first reported in July 2014 (!) as mentioned before. @PLEX, please at least reply with your view on this given all your other hard work!

I was a bit surprised that there wasn’t at least a slow medium fast option if not a enter the number of seconds between pictures.

is it really this hard to add this feature? it doesn’t have to be pretty. we can edit configuration files if needed

What do you guys want? Basic functionality for long-existing features, or watching movies in VR?

Do you want features that you actually use on a daily basis to work well, or do you want features you’ll probably never use to take up all the developers’ time?

You guys gotta choose.

@DarrinBrunner I assume you over-exaggerate in an attempt to prove a point? Adding an option to change what is basically an integer value should take maybe 10 minutes, and then allow the users to test it. I don’t see how a slideshow speed feature could possibly cause a massive delay in other development.

But to answer your question: I would choose the slideshow speed, as I use slideshows very often and have never used VR. As a matter of fact I have had to put all of my images on usb sticks and put them into the various devices where I want them to be displayed (mainly big screens).

And since this request was first made back in 2014 (that’s the earliest I could find at least), then I find it very hard to believe that the developers could not find the time to implement what should be very basic functionality at some point in the almost 4 years that have passed.

Server Version 1.11.3.4803 purported to fix the slideshow EXIF problem. Didn’t work for me
slides are still out of order based on dates instead of name as set.

Still nothing lol, what a joke

Wow
 Amazing

This was not an issue to me, until it became an issue to me because I wanted to be able to let my wife - who is undergoing Chemo - be able to view a slide show of all our pics while recovering from her horrendous treatments, and movies are just frankly getting old. The fact that this thread goes back 3 and a half years, with NO feedback or response whatsoever from Plex, when so many users are asking this question is stupefying.

After pouring through the code base and python files looking for a configuration somewhere, anywhere, that, as a programmer, I might be able to manipulate and share an easy fix
 pfft.

This is a matter of principle. A matter of the provider not having the least amount of courtesy to even respond to the questions of its user base. And it’s enough to make me uninstall Plex and go with another solution.

See ya - hope not too soon.

Emby is looking good. I don’t think, from what I’ve seen of it in the last 24 hours running on my server, that it will solve the issue of the slide show settings we all seem to suffer from Plex, but I won’t abide a provider that pushes upselling for premium services that also displays such a callous disdain for its customers.

As a software solutions provider for going on 30 years, you people (Plex) quite frankly, make me sick.

I would choose some slide screen options that I use often to VR that I will never use.

Add an option to change the playback speed then as a bonus change the way the transition happens.

Me too - would like to alter the playback speed.
+1 voice control to remove a photo from the slideshow

First post. Are there moderators here?

All I want is the option to manually advance photos. Really.
