Request for speed controls for slideshows.
Just a simple option to decrease the speed to your desired setting.
The current speed flies through far too quickly when using plex to show family photos.
I’ve seen requests for this simple control for years so I’m going along the lines of the more requests, the more plex developers will get fed up and implement it.
I tried to post a similar feature request (but was closed and referenced to this one). My idea is a bit different, though…
Even if the default speed is just changed to something more reasonable, it would be a tremendous improvement. As it stands, the slideshow feature is basically unusable. It would be much easier for the @Plex development staff to change the default value (increasing the amount of time per-slide) than implement a new UI to control this setting.
One person’s too fast default speed is another person’t too slow… just syain’ that no matter what Plex chooses as the default, someone won’t be happy with it. Seems like the better fix would be to offer a few different speeds…
Right, there must be a control to be able to adjust it cause even the same person can have Albums for multiple puposes like telling a story or just photoframe running on an echo show 5 … my most wanted feature currently.
No doubt there will be differences in taste! That said, there’s no reason that features can’t be released incrementally as they become feasible. It’s objectively more feasible to change the current default, whose feedback has been universal on all requests thus-far about being unusually fast.
Ideally, I’d like to see a quick update to make the default more reasonable, and then release the UI when that level of effort makes sense for the dev team.
Can we have someone at Plex comment on this . There is a lot of uses for the photo slide show but as it is currently any modern picture I view flies by so fast I can barely see it. I love the feature of the slide show and this would make it usable.
All these requests for YEARS asking for such a basic feature and no one ever responding from plex. Why keep using this if no one cares about the actual users?
Currently the Photo Library is UNUSABLE for me. One have to treat Plex as NO HAVING this function at all as the current implementation is a joke.
Two absolutely features missing which are so F…G basic!
Turn off the the slide slideshow by default and start it with separate commend (so if I open one picture I want it to stay without needing to press pause - this is ridiculous)
Adjusting the speed of slideshow if I CONSCIOUSLY select to start slideshow.
How come developers in PLEX can not deal with this for years???
The lack of this feature makes the app-based photo slideshow (in my case, on Fire Stick) completely worthless. The photos change way too fast to be appreciated, and bigger photos don’t load at all during the 5 second dwell time.
I have started migrating my content to Kodi for this reason alone.
The fact that the feature is so basic, and the fact that the Plex team has gone on for so long without either acknowledging the issue or doing something about it has killed all my goodwill toward this product. I no longer want to support it.
Hopefully the developers will take this as a signal and improve their customer strategy. But once I’ve completed shifting my media library I don’t really see a reason to come back to Plex.
When there is a Slide show available, to have a few basic options is really what to expect (as a minimum). I was excited about the slideshow feature - but right now I am just feel irritated in PLEX. If such as basic feature as slideshow is poor…
Yeas, please, please please add a configurable delay between slides on the slideshow. Would make the feature usable - without a configurable delay, it’s too fast to use.
