Can somebody please help because I am going out of my mind round in circles.
My old PC has practically died. It has my content and is set up with Plex but I have backed the content up on separate drives. The old PC can just about start up, if I’m lucky.
I have a new PC. I want to run Plex on my new PC. I want to be able to switch my Plex libraries over to my new PC without having to deal with the threat of restarting my old PC 17 times. Nothing about why this process is difficult seems to makes sense.
Can you attach the old hard drive to the new PC?
Then you can move the Plex data to their new location on the new hard drivehttps://support.plex.tv/articles/201370363-move-an-install-to-another-system/
Or is it the old hard drive itself, which is causing the PC to fail?
In the latter case, there is no way to move your Plex data to the new PC.
It will be a new setup then, where none of the old metadata edits and usage data from the old server are preserved.
