Please consider adding channel names to the listings (or an option to enable them)…
When I used to watch TV, I would often stay on one channel for a while. It’s kind of hard to know which channels are which with only show/movies currently on. Also, sometimes I like to have the channel on before I ever start watching an episode that is about to air. It’s hard to get prepared when you have no idea what show is playing before it. (leads to like Googling to figure out… which really isn’t convenient. )
edit: This isn’t a request for a grid view. (I know that’s a work in progress) But I would hope just channel names wouldn’t conflict with patents too.
I was thinking the same thing and especially with just seeing the list of channel list to just play something and once that program ends the next one continues like byte my tongue WMC does. Another view of maybe just the 2 to NN live channgels to select from would be nice in the programming view or separately is fine too.

Yeah, I’m surprised they left something this simple out
I did some research on exactly this some months ago. It seems their logic is that if you are a “cable cutter” so to speak the station that it came from becomes irrelevant.
I’m with you though, sometimes I know what channel something was recorded from and it would be good to be able to sort it via that.
Also sometimes when watching a show ive recorded it has an ad for another show I like, and because the guide doesn’t show channels I’m scrolling through 20 pages of everything on TV in the next 2 weeks to try to find what I want. If I could select the channel it would make life so much easier
I just got my DVR going and was surprised to see that you can’t tell which channel or station a show is on unless you click on it. On my android app it shows the station name and channel. Please add to the desktop app!

Yeah, it shows this on the iOS app too, but just not in the browser.
I’d like this too. You do at least get the network’s logo showing up in some places, but it seems inconsistent. I really don’t give a darn about the channel number at all.
