Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show Specials episodes not picking up Episode names

I added The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show , Season 1 and 2 episodes and Plex picked them up perfectly! and I named the episodes correctly from the tvdb site. however Specials are not working , i mean plex is finding the Specials and i have Specials along with Season 1 and 2 under The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, BUT the episodes under Specials are just labeled “Episode 1” etc… not the actual Episode name like “A Charlie Brown Christmas” which is what Episode 1 should be showing as…

I have folder structure as “TV Shows\The Charlie Brown And Snoopy Show\Specials\The Charlie Brown And Snoopy Show - S00E01 - A Charlie Brown Christmas.avi”

also and “TV Shows\The Charlie Brown And Snoopy Show\Season 1” and "Season 2" for S01 and S02 that work fine . not sure what i’m doing wrong or missing here for Specials to not pick up the Episode names from thetvdb.com

Tell Plex to use TVDB - Aired ordering.

Using Plex Web:

  1. Edit the show (pencil icon) → Advanced → Episode Ordering = TheTVDB (Aired).
  2. Save changes.
  3. Refresh metadata if Plex does not do so automatically.

that worked!! i’m glad it did but oh my that is a very obscure setting i would have never thought to do that.

Plex defaults to TMDB (Aired).

You can set the default for a library to either TMDB (Aired) or TVDB (Aired). Edit the library → Advanced → Episode Ordering.

Many shows have different orders for DVD releases, streaming releases, etc. If those orderings are on TVDB, you can tell Plex to use them instead of the default.

The problem with Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show is your server used the default TMDB listing, but they do not list specials/season 00. That is why the episodes were listed as “Episode 01,” etc. When you switched to TVDB, which has the Specials listing, Plex pulled the correct information.
