Plex needs to prioritize working with Google to get it fixed.
Do a search and see how many other users can’t use Plex to stream (for the last 6 months). And those are just the ones voicing their problem because they were smart enough to use the forum:

Hello guys,
My plex server does not stream any media to my chromecast. The error message is: “Sorry! Something went wrong - Error code: h4 (Codec)”.
Plex Media Server Version 1.15.6.1079
FreeNAS-11.2-U4.1
Google Chromecast Ultra EU Version
Cast-Firmwarerevision: 1.39.152021

For the past few months, video files that used to play successfully on my primary Chromecast Ultra setup now fail immediately with an h4 error. I’ve posted about this a few times in other threads , but wanted to make my own thread with additional logs specific to my issue for more visibility and to solicit further assistance.

I’m curious if Plex even knows/cares that this is an issue for people. They haven’t posted a single comment. They’re probably working on another Tidal service that no one needs.
