Thank you for sharing your findings! I did the same thing and as others have also reported, I no longer have the issue. It was very frustrating, so I’m glad the workaround is simple.

I’ve not had any repeat occurrences since I changed the settings as described earlier in the thread.
Came to the forums to see if anyone else was having the issue with “Terminate Sessions Paused for Longer Than”
Wasnt having any issues but had some long term paused sessions i wanted to get rid of so I changed it from 0 and started having issues.
Further note, if i started the stream from my desktop chrome browser to my chromecast, no issues but as soon I tried to start a stream from any android plex app, it would hang in the first 15-20 sec. Reverted by clearing the "Terminate Sessions Paused for Longer Than " setting and it went back to normal.
A fix for this bug is in the works.
We found there was a server issue where the Terminate Sessions Paused for Longer Than setting value was being treated as seconds instead of minutes, and a client issue where the playback sessions weren’t being associated with the transcoding sessions.
It’s a two-part fix, so it may take a little while until all the pieces to make it better are in place, but they’re coming.
Thanks for pointing this out for us; we’ll get a fix out shortly and I’ll post in the Chromecast releases thread when it reaches General Availability.

I noticed that after 20 minutes of playback locally to my chromecast (started the stream from ios app and cast it to chromecast ultra.) that the playback would pause and you would not be able to get it to play unless you stop the playback, go back to the movie/tvshows selection screen (so that it remembers the playback placement) then go back in and play. Then it works for 20 minutes again.
After reviewing my terminate sessions setting, I noticed as well it’s set to 20 minutes. This seems to have been the issue.
I update my server frequently, usually day of or within a few days of a beta release. I only noticed this happening the past 1-2 weeks~.
