I am also, unfortunately, one of the “others” where it doesn’t work for me to start the stream then redirect it to the Chromecast.
My understanding is that the problem is with all Chromecasts, as it is a profiling issue that I could previously fix by manually setting the profiles and codecs. Details of that manual hack are still all over this forum in old threads.
I remember that at some point they patched this functionality out and the manual config file changes no longer worked.
From that point, the issue I started this thread about started becoming more and more common even with existing media that could be played previously without issue.
The fact that Emby works FLAWLESSLY in with the exact same Chromecasts and media is all the more disappointing.
For reference, I have:
- 1x 1st Gen Chromecast
- 1x 2nd Gen Chromecast
- 2x Chromecast Audio
- 1x Chromecast Ultra (4K-capable)
