CLOUDLINUX 7.7 Plex Crashing every 2 days

plex Server Version#: Version 1.18.7.2457
Player Version#: ALL go down… and idk what version. plex, iphone app, chrome, tv etc.

So… i found the log showing exactly when my server went down by checking log times and when up time robot texted me… server seems to be killing itself off (turning off i think ) Plex server… cause 1 minute later from log kill signal i got up time robot text saying plex was down

this happens like literally every 2 days i’d say… its happened last few months since i’ve used plex…

I am running cloud linux 7.7 lol with whm/ cpanel i only host 1 small site… im using soyoustart.com which basically OVH but lower costs… and support. but exactly same network / datacenters are used!

32 gb ram server// Intel E3 1245 v2 I BELIEVE. FYI when plex crashes… it’s just plex… my web server and server dont go down… WHM/Cpanel etc everything is working… only easy fix i noticed is to reboot server via WHM control panel or over SSH

I’m sorry:

  1. CloudLinux is not a supported distribution. Supported distributions are Fedora, Centos, Ubuntu, and Debian.
  2. Issues with any particular hosting company are not Plex’s responsibility.

If you provide the full ZIP file, we might be able to help point you in a direction but snippets as shown above are woefully inadequate.

There are 4 crash entries since Dec 20.
No reason is given.
All shutdowns were as commanded

Invalid media files will not cause a crash of the server. They very likely will cause playback to fail (apparent crash).

so what do i do to fix the issue? Is there a maintenance setting or something to turn off to stop it? I’m very confused

Those are media errors. It is complaining that they aren’t valid.
While they might indeed play, there are errors If it fails to behave as expected, that’s why.
