Collating Recently Added TV Episodes

Hi,

I don’t know if there’s a way to do this already, but I can’t find it. Each time I add an episode to my library that episode will appear separately in the ‘recently added TV’ section to other episodes that I’ve added of the same show, so I may have instances of ‘show xxx S2E3’, ‘show xxx S2E4’ etc in separate tiles. Is there a way of displaying an entire show/season in one tile while adding them periodically and keeping them together, with perhaps the unwatched episode marker going up?

The way it is working at the moment is wholly intentional.
Otherwise you will miss newly added episodes if they get collated under their show’s posters.

Adding to Otto’s point:
Plex will actually collate episodes added during 20 hours IIRC…

# of files added belonging to recently added collation
one one season individual episode
many one season individual season
many multiple seasons show

You can achieve what you’re asking for by creating and publishing a smart collection:

  1. open an advanced filter for a tv-show library
  2. apply no filters!
  3. set the display mode to Shows
  4. set the order to By Last Episode Date Added
  5. add the collection to your home screen or library Recommended tab

And… I just noticed there’s an existing suggestion thread discussing that exact option. Therefore I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to help us avoid distracting or cannibalizing votes.

I’ll therefore close this thread as a duplicate.
