[Chat Function] inside the server to update users on what is happening.
Alot goes on within a plex server, and common users dont have a clue with 95% of it. Apps that procure media, apps that talk with other servers, apps that run reverse proxy etc.
Users need a central place they can see a message within. All of social media has become bastardized by big corporate interests and I stand firm in distancing myself from that bad juju.
I’m requesting the integration of a simple chat function, along with a simple message function for one topic to display to any users in the event of inaccessibility or equiptment failure.
The chat function would help communicate to other users without having to jump to a social media app or text messaging, etc.
I see clear usefulness of this feature as do fellow plexians who I have personally discussed it with. Yes plex is for storing/organizing/consuming media. So let’s “chat,” about it too!
