Comskip is slow, but CPU utilization is low

Hi all. I did a search but didn’t find anything. My issue is that comskip post-processing takes a long time (approximately equal to the length of the show, e.g. a 60 minute show takes about 60 minutes to process). I’ve monitored server resource utilization during comskip and CPU averages around 15%, RAM usage is negligible. I assumed comskip performance would be would be CPU-limited as the drives are local, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Is it configured to use a limited amount of CPU? If so, can I change that configuration? Can anyone help me understand what is the bottleneck in this processing?
