Hi everyone! I’ve been looking for answers to this but wasn’t able to come across a clear one…
I’m considering switching my i7 3770 server for the Nvidia Shield I already own, since it’s able to decode x265 files while my server isn’t.
I tested the Shield by connecting the drives from my running server via network storage and it works great. My Shield only has 16gb of internal storage and I was wondering if adding an external hard drive to store the Plex data folder would slow things down noticeably… Since my server runs on an SSD and everything loads super fast, I wouldn’t want to move it all to have it be sluggish.
What do you recommend? Should I use an external HDD? A fast pendrive? Maybe use an SSD enclosure for my internal SSD?
Ps.: Would it be possible for the Shield to just pull the data folder from network storage?
Thanks in advance.
