Consolidate Collections Filters (i.e. Network)

I’ve recently been playing with creating collections for my server that break down TV shows by Network (i.e. shows from Hulu), and I like it a lot.

I then switch over to my Movies library and go looking for the same thing, but it isn’t there. With all these “Networks” creating movies too (not just shows) why not filter based on the Networks over here in Movie land too?

Have you already checked the Studio filter?

It would be Studio for films. But on the topic of Network, how come we don’t see the field when we edit TV show’s metadata?

No, it is not Studio. Studio is not Netflix or Apple (which is the Network). Studio is the company that made the movie. Netfilx and Apple and whatever buy the rights to the movie from the Studio.

Criterion Collection is also a streaming network (of which Criterion is also involved in restoring old movies released in digital format with new commentaries and extras etc) that is also one I’d like to filter by.

In summary, I’d like the ability to filter my movies by whether they appear or are affiliated with:

  • Criterion / Criterion Network (generally movies that I like and would like to filter in)
  • Netflix Studios / Netflix (generally movies that I dislike and would like to filter out)
  • Amazon Prime Video (sometimes movies that I like, sometimes movies I don’t, but would be interesting to filter by these to see if there are patterns)
