Content not showing up in Plex

I am having a hard time figuring out why any of my most recent content is not showing up within Plex. I have the Plex server installed on a QNAP TS-853A, which is the same device where all my content resides. It’s as if there is some sort of synchronization that is not happening. I can see the new content on the NAS, which is in the same location as the rest of my older content that does show up in Plex. I did find a “sync” button, but after completing, my newest content still isn’t showing up.

For example, I added a couple of new songs to my music folder. When I launch Plex Music and then sort the music by “Date added”, the most recent displayed was from 2 months ago. If I specifically search by the music title, nothing displays. Any thought on what might be going on? I purchased a lifetime Plex Pass in hopes that would make my experience better, but it’s still doing what it did before.

after hitting “Scan library files” look at the scanner log and see if it sees them at all

After scanning for about a half-hour, I see one of the missing songs so far. However, the scan is still running.

Based on the settings that are in place, I thought such scans were to run automatically? Under the Library settings, the “Update my library automatically” check box is already checked. The “Update my library periodically” is not checked however. Should that also be enabled?

I also have every check box under “Scheduled tasks” checked, other than “Update all libraries during maintenance”. Let me know if that should also be enabled.

Thank you!

It should detect on changes. i don’t know of any reason it would not. It can’t hurt to have it check periodically.
