It looks like it’s the scheduled library scan task, not the partial scan from a change detection.
As a workaround I’ve turned off the scheduled library scan server wide, and made my own scheduled tasks to scan the libraries that get new content often. If I actually add something to the music library, I’ll start a scan manually in the GUI.
Try un-pinning your music library when you restart Plex. In my case, Plex did not see the music library so I could load other things. When you want to listen to music, just restart Plex and re-pin. But unfortunately it does not solve the core problem, it is a workaround at best. So you will have to constantly restart Plex to make this work.
Since I add so little to my muisc collection can we add an option to stop scanning my music? please?!? I don’t see the need to put that HDD under that stress for no reason.
How about a manual option, I don’t want it to look for any changes.
Try unclicking auto detect scan box. But to stop the scanning, restart plex and un pin music library. Then restart and re-pin with auto detect scan off.
There is a software bug that keeps music constantly scanning. For some reason mine has stopped doing it, but that’s what I had to do to add anything. Try restarting and load the newest update.
