Controls on mobile are disabled (greyed-out)

Hi,

I am not sure if this is for the mobile or smart TV sub-forum but I guess it’s more mobile-related.

I got the Plex Android app planning to use it as a remote control for my TV.

However, when I connect, I get very limited options. Play/pause and sound level. Everything else is either greyed out or simply not there.

For example, I cannot fast forward or rewind as seen in the first screenshot.

I also cannot change any settings such as enabling subtitles because the settings menu is empty (second screenshot).

I experience the same on both the regular app and on the beta version (just signed up for it to see if it would help).

Can anyone advise me how to proceed?

I’ve been trying to find any information on the topic but not luck. Plex seems to be very buggy overall but I would at least expect basic features to work, considering that this is a paid app.

Any suggestions about what I could do next before switching to an alternative?
