Hi there. I recently set up my android TV box as a plex client. I am using it to watch videos from my plex server at home whilst staying with my folks. My question is, how can I fast forward or rewind movies? There appear to be no controls on screen at any time, and no progress bar. I can pause the video my pressing pause on my android to remote, but doing so does not make a progress bar appear, as you might expect. Clicking on the screen with the mouse control on my android tv remote has no effect. This is how I get controls and progress bar to appear in Kodi on the same box.
Android box? Or Android TV? They are actually different clients.
On Android TV, you can hit left or right on the remote and it will skip forward or backward. Doing show should pop-up the on-screen controls and show your progress.
If you’re talking about one of those sticks that runs the phone version of Android but plugs into the TV, I can’t offer any help. You’re using a version of Android and Plex designed for devices with a touchscreen (phones, tablets, etc) and trying to make it work on your TV which it was not designed for.
yes this is simply the phone version of android, running on a set top box designed to be connected to a TV. I guess I should have chosen the phone option rather than the TV layout option on set up.
I’ve since found though that using an alternate remote I can get to the pause, forward 30 seconds and rewind 30 seconds by pressing the OK button, so I am OK with the current layout now
