"Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error"

For about 2 weeks I was getting the error “Server not powerful enough to convert video.” The only fix seemed to be going into my Plex dashboard, selecting the video, going to “Optimize…” and “Optimize for TV.”

This got annoying so I tried updating to the latest Plex version. Now, every time I try to play anything, I get the error: " “Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again. Conversion failed. The transcoder exited due to an error.”

I’m running Plex on an Apple TV, but the videos don’t work in the Plex web app either.

I’m about ready to dump Plex.

How about recreating the issue with DEBUG on and VERBOSE off.

I ended up completely reinstalling Plex and it seems to be fine now.

“I’m about ready to dump Plex” accurately depicts my utter frustration after spending hours trying to solve the problem myself, and what isn’t helpful is calling me out for my frustration if you’re not going to be empathetic about it.
