Yes - except that you probably need to go through uninstall / install if you switch from the preview release to beta or public release. I must warn you that preview releases are pre beta

Had a different transcoder error message pop up with this one. This one just said it exited due to an error, not that it failed to start up. Happened at 1:01am in the logs.

And this is using the preview release please strictly follow the guidelines on the first post on that topic in terms of where to report issues and what evidence to provide
The logs are still showing database corruptions that I mentioned in march. So this must be new corruption or it is a different database - but without debug logging one cannot be sure it is gracenote db files

As I saw last time, I donāt have all the files Iām supposed to delete. Like last time, I deleted the ones I DO have, but canāt seem to find the last one. Windows Explorer Search didnāt yield any results.
I enabled the setting, should I wait to upload new logs until the transcoder error happens, or should I take the logs now to see the malformed database?
Since I am having the same issues, should I revert back to the official full Plexpass beta, instead of the Preview?

You could run a pragma integrity check on each gdb file (after shutting down Plex Media Server)
If no errors, then lets wait to have logs with debug logging enabled

Yes - suggest you do that as we have now established the problem is still there. Go through Add / Remove Progtams : Uninstall
and then install the latest beta 1.12.2.4929

Crashed around 10:21am. Hereās the logs for it with debug logging enabled
Server Version 1.12.2.4929
Somewhat unrelated, as Iāve heard others have posted about it, but the new chromecast app has so many bugsā¦
Thatās not the most pressing issue, and I know itāll probably be fixed soon, and I have other ways to watch so no biggie, but it needs some work lol
I can make this build available to you to see if it makes a difference
If you can easily reproduce the error then would like to get some detailed transcoder logging if the problem remains - as outlined in this post http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/comment/1652027/#Comment_1652027
Let me know if you are happy trying a development build

Yeah Iād def be happy trying that build! I donāt see a link though on that thread for it? Maybe Iām missing it?

I have sent you link to development build 1.13.0.4980-d25fa53bb
If the errors continue and you can reproduce, please do two tests with transcoder additional logging as follows
Plex Media Server with both debug and verbose logging enabled and a different level of transcoder logging for each of the two tests. The transcoder logging level is an advanced hidden setting that is mentioned on this support article https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105343-advanced-hidden-server-settings/ and it is named TranscoderLogLevel
The settings i need are not both documented
I would like to try 2 different logging levels for separate tests (assuming you can bring this error on)
Please start with a fresh server relaunch for each test
Test 1
Server Debug Logging + Verbose TranscoderLogLevel set to trace
This will increase the logging significantly and you may find it is too much to actually get to transcode
Capture logs when transcoder crashes and check that these errors do show up in the logs av_interleaved_write_frame() and Failed to open segment list
Test 2
Server Debug Logging + Verbose TranscoderLogLevel set to verbose
Capture logs when transcoder crashes and check that these errors do show up in the logs av_interleaved_write_frame() and Failed to open segment list
At the end of testing delete the key TranscoderLogLevel and disable verbose sever setting

Still having issues with thisā¦Anybody find a solution yet?
Is it to do with music or other media now?
Would need diagnostics - as outlined in my earlier post
Still the same issues as I described in the original postā¦Itās all different media. I only had the music one for a short time when I first got Plex pass to check it out, which was like 2 months after the issues started, so itās not music related. I replied to your earlier post like a month ago and never got a response, thatās why I re-asked if anyone had found a solution, to kind of bump the thread lol, was hoping youād see it and thought maybe youād forgotten about it. As I outlined in my OP and in the comment, I cannot replicate; It is random. Iāve tried to do 5 min clips, but the short clips donāt seem to reproduce the error, because the actual video file doesnāt crash every single time, just randomly sometimes.
I am positive this is a Plex issue, not a file issue. Files that worked fine 100% of the time last year, now randomly have issues I had never even seen this error until November, and Iāve used Plex since 2012. I watched full series of tv shows with no issues, now some have this error. Nothing changed for the media (same files on same drives since last year) The exact same files do not give me issues when using VLC, Emby, or Kodi. Thatās why I believe it to be a Plex issue. It started in November and no other software gives me these errors.
It really seems like itās the audio conversion that makes the transcoder have errors. Any AC3 5.1 ā AAC Stereo seems to be causing issues. For the most part, I have verrrry few issues with the rest of my media collection that has any audio other than AC3 5.1
i have this error too. i canāt reproduce anything that is AC3 5.1 because i get the āConversation failedā error. Same content with AAC audio play just fine. The log also show an error with eac3 codec:
May 01, 2018 17:17:19.654 [4408] ERROR - [Transcoder] [eac3_mf @ 03e45840] could not find any MFT for the given media type

All this happen with latest plex pass update (1.13.0.5003). All videos was reproduced perfectly with previous version.

In any case your error is not the same as the one you did a quote post for.
The transcoder error you are referring to is a generic error with different underlying errors giving rise to it. You can clearly see your log lines that you extracted are different from the ones in earlier post
