Copied library is not recognised as same item

Server Version#:1.41.0.8992-70008992

Hi,

I am in the process of migrating my libraries storage from an old NAS to a newer one (Plex server was already running on the new server).
I have followed the instructions from this webpage.
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201154537-move-media-content-to-a-new-location/

However, after copying the full library from the old to the new location, then the series are just added as “new” with full unwatched status next to “old existing” media.

I was not able to get this sentence from the guide to work “The server will examine the contents of the new location and associate the content with the existing media items in your library.”

Does anyone has any idea as to what is not working for me ?

Can you post a couple of the file names that are showing as new?

It wouldn’t help much as it is home made files.
I have files as released.mpg, released002.mpg and so on in a “series” 'I should say a label not a real series.
Wedding1.mkv, wedding2.mkv…
Then, a whole bunch of files names test with a number of a format and so on.

Home made movies was the first library I tried to move.
It’s about 50GB…

So the weird thing is…
I’ve just tried again and the following 2 things happened.
1/ on the 50 GB home movies library I copied to another volume, it worked and identified similar elements for all movies but one. So the movies are merged and have the correct metadata (manually supplied of course as there is no metadata agent on this library given this is only home movies).
2/ I then tried another, larger home video library, and once more, videos were added next to the “originals” as different videos, not merged and henceforth with no metadata.

Nobody has any idea as to what I can do ?
