Corrupted User Account settings, privacy set to public yet still not searchable for Plex Admin

This is an issue that popped up a couple a couple of weeks ago.

I made my Dad an Plex account when I set up the server (with his own email/pass) so that he can have his watchlists, etc.

This has worked for several years now.

2-3 weeks ago I wanted to have a look into his watchlist to see if there is something we might want to watch on the holidays together, but unfortunately I wasn’t even able to open up his profile anymore. He still shows up as my Plex friend, is part of my Plex Home, everything. Just when I want to open his profile it errors out that this user can not be found.

Weird, so I checked (via his Ipad at first, later with a browser) if he had changed his privacy settings or didn’t agree to an updated user agreement or something that might limit his usability or his account, but everything was set up right. I even changed everything to public for testing purposes - no change.

So I removed him as a friend + from Plex Home and tried to look him up via his username or his email adress.

Nothing.

Tried it the other way around, logged in via his browser, looked up my username, found myself immediately and send me a friend request. Worked like a charm, friend request popped up, accepted it, added him to my Plex Home again, etc.

Tried to open his profile (which was displayed under my friends), same error as before.

Double checked all the privacy settings again, went through every possible setting that could effect this but found nothing.

The only possible reason (that I could think of) would be that his settings must be mangled or his profile corrupted in the Plex database itself that handles user data.

Is there anything I can do to fix this or could someone from the Mod/Support Team help figure this out?

Server is running on the latest version from the official docker, his Ipad app is also the latest version and tried it with 2 different browsers via the webapp.

My mom (who is the other user on my Plex server) has absolutely zero issues.

There was an error on our end, it’s all fixed now, and shouldn’t happen again :slight_smile:
