Covers are not displayed correctly when songs from multiple artists are in the same directory

Hello everyone. I have an issue with Plex and I wonder if I can fix it. I saw a lot of posts with a similar report but no solution were given other than moving the songs into different folders.

Here is a sample of the issue I have :

As you can see, 3 songs have the same cover but only 1 of these 3 songs is applied correctly. The other 2 (Bye bye love and The Witch Doctor) are not even sung by Elvis.

My files have the good covers within Windows and my other media players. Only Plex does this. I tried to prioritize the embedded tags but it doesn’t help. The only thing that helped is moving the files in separate folders. I don’t want to do this.

I organize my files by decade and it’s the only way I want to work. I can’t believe a work around has not been found for this. I paid for Plex Pass so if the solution is hidden there, please let me know.

I’m afraid it is not possible to do it in Plex like you want it.
Plex only stores the cover per-album. Not per-song.

All files which plex recognised as being on one album (which might be hit-and-miss if you throw files together which never were on an album together) will share a common album art.

Well, this is very disappointing to not have such an option in what I believe is the most advanced tool for this kind of need…

I’ll keep using Plex for my tv series and movies… But I will look for another tool to manage my music library… Thank you for the quick reply.
