I have Plex installed in a docker container on my Unraid server (Atom C3758). Yesterday I tested the CPU Scaling Governor setting “Power Save” (ACPI CPU Freq driver) through the “Tips and Tricks” plugin:

By that the CPU frequency was throttled down to 800 Mhz if no process was producing load and everything seemed to work… until today.
We wanted to view some content through Plex, but it buffered every 10-15 seconds. Even Direct Play content started to buffer. After several hours I tested the old CPU setting “On Demand” an everything went back to normal.
Its good that I found the reason, but I wonder why Plex is not able to send a proper warning message. Most of the clients displayed only “buffering” or only the loading icon. One client displayed “slow network connection”. The dashboard showed medium load on the CPU and apart from that nothing really helpful to determine the reason of the buffering. A really frustrating situation.
