CPU usage and transcoding problem

Server Version#: 1.32.5.7328
Player Version#: 4.111.1
Hello, since few week friend and I having some trouble with “CPU usage not enough” or similar message when play some files on my plex server.
On every user player We configure the play to maximal by default to avoid transcoding and here my server config about transcoding :

I’m working on a QNAP TS-453Bmini with a Celeron CPU J3455.

Can you tell me how to configure the server to avoid CPU usage ? maybe one of my parameter is not good … ?

Edit: I would like no one trnascoding and only direct play or stream files

Thanks a lot !

You disabled video transcoding.

Plex displays the “Not enough CPU” message when it needs to transcode video, but cannot because it is disabled.

Re-enable video transcoding.

That depends on the capabilities of your Plex clients and the type of media you are streaming.

For example, subtitle support varies widely among Plex clients. On some clients, enabling PGS, VOBSUB, or SSA/ASS subtitles results in Plex having to transcode the video.

Thanks for your quick answer !

Aside from modifying this setting, is there any other setting that I can modify to improve the experience and quality of life of users with respect to the CPU?

Can we desactivate some subtitles as you explain ?
Can we force some type of clean subtitles for everyone ?

Your other settings look OK. Plex will use Intel Quick Sync graphics to transcode video, not the CPU.

You cannot deactivate subtitles.

The best alternative is to use SRT (text) subtitles. They are the most compatible across all Plex clients.

You can remove other subtitle formats using tools such as MKVToolNix’s Multiplexer tool.

There are tools such as Subtitle Edit to convert between subtitle formats. However, it usually takes a lot of handholding to get things right.

There are several sites on the Internet where you can download SRT subtitles. My experience is that most are of poor quality. Also, it is hard to find ones that have correct timing. You can give them a try. Your luck may be better. See Fetching Internet Sourced & Using Your Own Subtitle Files for a list of sites.

Ok, thanks for all those explanation. =)

Best regards !
