How I would like this to work, is to be able to share a playlist just like a library is done today.
The prime example of this would be a playlist created with age restrictions that I can share to my kid (own plex.tv account) and make my life infinately easier. A pseudo-library of sorts.
As it is today, I have to keep all animated movies and suitable content in a separate library (folder) and share that. Or make a boatload of libraries and share those individually.
I’d really like to see cross-server playlists. In other words, I’d like to add media from different servers that I have access to into one playlist that’s accessible from my account. That way I can queue up media without having to switch servers manually.
To avoid to have a lot of Libraries. Is a huge work.
For example, I have to make a Drama libraries, one for the kids, and one for the adults, but the problem goes bigger when the teenagers show up in the house.
If I have for example Sci-fi library, some movies like Alien collection is not for kids, but it is for a teens and adults, plus for some sagas, how a father that I a’m, is very handy can manage who can see X or Y Playlist without have to make more and more libraries.
At the end of the day, this is the reason of the playlists, right?
+1 for this, I have no idea why this is not implemented.
I just spent many, many hours creating Billboard Top* lists in my playlists to share with my kids, and now I notice they can’t see them. This is crazy to me.
This is the ONLY reason I upgraded to Plex Pass, for all family member to sync music to their phones using playlists, I guess I’m glad I didn’t do a lifetime pass, and only tried a month.
Is there any update on this, or do I just cancel my Plex Pass, and sign up for Spotify?
